Our Goal
Through a collaborative course between the User Experience Design post graduate program and the Industrial Design undergraduate program, we were tasked with creating a prototype / concept that aims to help in a particular field (i.e. health & wellness, entertainment, food industries).
Our Idea
After brainstorming some possible technological innovations in fitness, concert-going, and more, we landed on the idea of creating a navigation assistant for those who are visually impaired.
Our Process
We started by brainstorming as a group and landed on six different ideas.
We voted and went forward with assisting those who are visually impaired with a navigation assistant concept.
We created sketches as a team, the industrial design (ID) students created 3D mockups.
We did an extensive amount of secondary research, looked into what current navigation for those who are visually impaired looks like, and started to create a persona.
As we reached near the end of the course, we created a final poster and video to present our concept and all of its attributes (as seen at the top of this page).
